This bench was designed to show the personal space between two people according to interpersonal relationships, and was based on the three abstract concepts - physical distance, human behavior, and love. The relationship can be identified with different rows of bench legs. The shapes and colors of the three rows of bench legs allude to the stages of a relationship: strangers, friends, and lovers. Products do not exist to merely perform tasks, they satisfy other functional requirements; aspirations, cultural, social, and emotional needs. Through this design, I bring people’s attention to the relationship and interaction with others in the society.
